Engineering with Clarity
I work independently across construction project management, data analysis and sustainable technologies, with a focus on making technical decisions easier to understand and act upon. My approach is practical: I start with the available evidence, identify the constraints, and turn complex information into a clear path forward.
Construction projects often become difficult not because the engineering is impossible, but because costs, programmes, risks and technical choices are considered separately. I look at these elements together. This helps reveal where time is being lost, where budgets are exposed and which assumptions need closer examination.
From Project Data to Useful Decisions
Data analysis is most valuable when it supports a real decision. I use structured spreadsheets, project controls and appropriate analytical tools to examine cost trends, progress, resource use and potential risks. Where useful, I may apply Python-based methods to clean information, compare scenarios or automate repetitive checks.
I do not treat data as a substitute for engineering judgement. Instead, I use it to test assumptions, make uncertainty visible and provide a more reliable basis for action. A simple, well-structured model is often more useful than an elaborate system that nobody can maintain.
Sustainable Technology in Context
Building-integrated photovoltaics, or BIPV, can contribute to a project’s energy strategy, but it should not be treated as a fashionable add-on. I consider its technical suitability, installation requirements, expected output, maintenance implications and relationship with the wider building design.
The right solution depends on context. Orientation, shading, envelope performance, structural constraints and project economics all matter. I therefore assess sustainable technologies through both an engineering and a practical delivery perspective.
A Direct and Measured Approach
I aim to communicate plainly, document assumptions and avoid exaggerated claims. My work is centred on useful analysis, transparent reasoning and solutions that can be applied in the real conditions of construction. The objective is simple: better information, more controlled decisions and projects that perform as intended.
